Kiké Hernández Finishes 3-Week Rehab Assignment, Set to Return

## Kiké Hernández Nears Return, Prospects Shine in Minors

Let’s dig into what’s happening in the Los Angeles Dodgers’ minor league system. There are some interesting updates on player performances and development lately.

Kiké Hernández looks set to return from his rehab assignment soon. Promising arms like Mason Estrada are starting to make some noise too.

We’ll check out Hernández’s status, spotlight a few emerging prospects, and see who’s standing out across the system. It’s a good time to wonder about the future of Dodger baseball—there’s a lot brewing.

Hernández Primed for Dodgers Return, Roster Spot to Be Determined

After a long rehab, Kiké Hernández is just about ready to rejoin the Dodgers. In his final rehab game, he played all nine innings at third base for Triple-A Oklahoma City.

He’s really worked that position during his time in the minors. Offensively, his numbers haven’t jumped off the page—he’s hitting .214 with a .298 on-base percentage and a .310 slugging mark.

Still, what matters more is that he’s played multiple positions and stayed healthy. That’s a big sign he’s ready.

The Dodgers are expected to activate him from the 60-day injured list once they get back home. They’ll have to make a roster move—someone will either get designated for assignment or sent down to open a spot on the 40-man.

Dave Roberts hinted that the timing depends on the team’s return, so they’re clearly hoping for a smooth transition. Hernández has shown his versatility lately, with 10 games at third base, plus time in center field and at second.

That flexibility makes him pretty valuable as the Dodgers push through the rest of the season. In 12 games with Oklahoma City, he didn’t exactly light up the stat sheet, but he got his timing back and built up his conditioning.

Prospect Spotlight: Estrada’s Dominant Outing and González’s Climb

Hernández’s return grabs attention, but the minor league system’s still bubbling with interesting talent. One of the best stories right now? Pitcher Mason Estrada’s remarkable turnaround.

His latest start for Class-A Ontario—honestly, it was a masterpiece. Estrada flashed his powerful right arm, striking out nine over four shutout innings.

He got hitters to swing and miss at nearly everything, racking up 17 swinging strikes. Sure, he walked three, and that’s a thing he’s trying to iron out, but the new command and swagger in his game really stood out.

Over his last three outings, Estrada’s given up just one run in 12 innings. Nineteen strikeouts, seven walks—he’s definitely trending up.

The pipeline’s moving, too. Bryan González just jumped from the Arizona Complex League to Double-A Tulsa. That’s a big step and says a lot about his progress.

Francisco Espinoza’s also on the move, heading to Ontario from Arizona. The organization clearly sees something in him and wants to test him at a higher level.

Other Minor League Notables and Affiliate Updates

Elsewhere, the minor league scene had its ups and downs. At Triple-A Oklahoma City, Hernández worked on his rehab, but the offense couldn’t get much going in a loss to Reno.

James Tibbs III gave them a spark in the ninth, doubling, swiping third, and scoring on Jack Suwinski’s sacrifice fly. That was about it for excitement. Wyatt Mills, just sent down to Triple-A, tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings, picking up two strikeouts and two walks. He still looks like a reliable bullpen arm.

Double-A Tulsa had its own storyline. Peter Heubeck finally got back on the mound after shoulder and hamstring issues. He pitched two innings—about 35 pitches. It’s not much, but it’s a start, and hopefully, he can build from here.

Across the affiliates, organizational depth showed up in different ways. Wichita pulled off a comeback win over Tulsa, showing some grit. Wisconsin exploded late against Great Lakes, running away with it. The Tower Buzers put up four runs in the third to beat Inland Empire.

These games might not make big headlines, but they’re crucial for scouting, player development, and figuring out who might help the Dodgers down the road.
